Message from the principal

As the founding principal of Googong Public School, I am looking forward to working with the school community to establish a high expectation, innovative and inclusive learning culture where every student is known, valued and cared for. 

I am a strong advocate for public education and firmly believe that every child deserves the right to a quality education. I am committed to the NSW Department of Education vision statement to be Australia's best education system and one of the finest in the world. 

Collectively we will create a future focused learning environment at Googong Public School that is designed to support strong collaboration, creativity, inquiry and achievement, giving every student the opportunity to succeed and thrive.

Deputy Principal

I am very excited to have the opportunity to play a part in the establishment of Googong Public School. Having lived in the Queanbeyan community for the past 5 years, it gives me great satisfaction to see the community continue to thrive and grow. I am looking forward to collaborating with the wonderful executive team to lay the foundations for our future families and students. A school built on strong connections with the community, innovative teaching and learning and high expectations will ensure that every student is provided the chance to connect, succeed and thrive.

It gives me great joy to work within the outstanding executive team at Googong Public School. I am honoured to teach in public education and to have the opportunity to help guide the development of our young people into creative, connected, and compassionate citizens of today and leaders of the future. Having spent the formative years of my career teaching and leading in small rural schools, I believe that strong, inclusive, and meaningful relationships foster wellbeing and form the cornerstone of growth and achievement in our students and staff. As such, I am passionate about developing the connections between our students and their learning, lives, and community and leading our teachers to do the same.

It gives me great joy to join the Googong Public School executive team. I strongly agree with McKinsey (2017) that the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of the teachers and I am dedicated to creating and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement for every student, every teacher, and every caregiver. I became a teacher due to my passion for public education and its role in shaping future generations. My background in educational leadership and ability to build a shared vision, sense of responsibility and purpose makes me excited to work with the Googong Public School team and community.

I am a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and dedicated educator who wants all children to be successful, well-rounded and well-adjusted learners who have the confidence and the skills to follow their dreams to wherever their journey in life may take them.

My purpose as an educational leader is to ensure that all students develop deep knowledge, skills and understandings so they can become change agents in a 21st Century society. I am passionate about enabling students to become creative, critical and collaborative individuals who can adapt and feel fulfilled in a changing world.

I believe in ensuring students have a sense of connectedness, purpose and meaning that enables them to thrive at school. I will endeavour to foster strong community partnerships and positive student-teacher relationships.
